CLAUSE 1: NAME

  1. This organization is known as MALAYSIAN FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT WELFARE ASSOCIATION. Hereinafter referred to as the “Association”.

CLAUSE 2: REGISTERED OFFICE

  1. The registered address and principal place of business of the Association is:

    Headquarters, Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department
    Lebuh Wawasan, Precinct 7,
    62250 Putrajaya.

    The correspondence address is:

    Headquarters, Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department
    Lebuh Wawasan, Precinct 7,
    62250 Putrajaya,
    Federal Territory of Putrajaya.

    The address may be changed to such other place or places as determined from time to time by the Committee.

  2. The registered office and correspondence address of the Association shall not be changed without the prior approval of the Registrar of Societies.

CLAUSE 3: PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The purpose of this Association is to provide financial assistance to members or their dependants in the event of death, illness or natural disasters.

CLAUSE 4: MEMBERSHIP

Membership of this Association is open to Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department personnel residing in Malaysia, aged 18 years and above but not exceeding 60 years of age.

Personnel of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department who wish to become members shall submit an application and register their personal details, including the names, ages and addresses of their dependants, with the Secretary.

The Committee has the authority to approve or reject any membership application.

CLAUSE 5: RESIGNATION AND TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

The dismissal of Committee Members and the election of their replacements may be carried out at a Special General Meeting.

The Committee may appoint acting members to fill vacancies arising from the resignation or death of Committee Members.

CLAUSE 6: FINANCIAL RESOURCES

6.1 Membership Fees

6.1.1 Every new member shall pay a registration fee of RM10.00.
6.1.2 Every member shall pay a monthly subscription of RM2.00.
6.1.3 An amount of RM0.40 from the monthly subscription shall be allocated for administrative expenses. This account shall be maintained separately from the Association's welfare fund.
6.1.4 Members who fail to pay their monthly subscription for three (3) consecutive months or three (3) times within a year without reasonable justification shall be deemed to have ceased their membership, and their names shall be removed from the membership register.
6.1.5 Members who resign, are dismissed or are transferred from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department shall automatically cease to be members of this Association.

6.2 Financial Contributions

6.2.1 Financial contributions from external parties, whether individuals or associations, may be accepted and credited to the Association's welfare fund.

CLAUSE 19: BENEFITS

  • Financial assistance for members upon the death of the member, spouse or registered adopted child.
  • Financial assistance for members who suffer physical disability due to an accident.
  • Financial assistance for members who suffer loss or damage to property caused by fire or natural disasters such as floods and storms.

Natural Disasters

Type of AssistanceAmount
Loss or damage to property caused by fire or natural disasters such as storms, involving losses of RM5,000.00 and above RM1,000.00
