The following are the main steps in the recruitment process conducted by the Public Service Commission (SPA).
Candidates complete and submit the application form through the SPA system.
Eligible candidates will receive an invitation letter to attend an interview.
Candidates undergo the required physical assessment as part of the recruitment process.
Candidates attend an interview conducted by the appointed selection panel.
Successful candidates will receive an official letter of appointment.
Candidates report for duty at the assigned department or agency.
Candidates undergo recruit training in accordance with the service scheme requirements.
Candidates successfully complete the training programme and are ready to begin official duties.
Candidates must complete a Release of Liability Declaration before undergoing any test. Candidates are also required to undergo the prescribed physical endurance assessments.
Not less than 1.57m for men and 1.53m for women without wearing shoes.
Not less than 48kg for men and 46kg for women. Measurements are taken without clothing (for men) and without shoes/rubber footwear.
A normal chest measurement of at least 79cm and 84cm while inhaling. This requirement does not apply to women.
Vision test with a visual acuity of V/6/9. The distance between the eye chart and the candidate is 20 feet without the aid of glasses or contact lenses.
Candidates will undergo a color recognition test covering all prescribed colors.
Candidates are required to undergo the prescribed hearing test.
Candidates will be assessed on their physical strength through a weight lifting test.
Candidates are required to complete the fire ladder elevation test to assess their strength, endurance, and physical control.
Candidates will undergo a rope climbing test to evaluate upper-body strength and physical endurance.
Candidates are required to complete a stair climbing test as part of the physical endurance assessment.
